Christie’s has announced the launch of Jewels Online: Summer Sparkle, a curated online-only auction that specifically focuses on diamonds.

In its latest release, Christie’s said: “From classic colorless diamonds, to a wide variety of rare colors including pinks, grays, oranges, greens, browns and yellows this sale offers comprehensive selection of the celebrated stone.”

Bidding for the lots commenced yesterday (12 August), and will close lot by lot on 27 August.

The top lot featured is a 20.21 carat pear shaped yellow-brown diamond mounted in a “spectacular” necklace, framed by round diamonds and suspended from a graduated diamond necklace by Graff, which is estimated between $300,000 (£229,000) and $400,000 (£305,350).

Other highlights include “striking colored diamonds in unique settings offering fresh takes on traditional engagement rings”.

Such lots include a “fancy brownish greenish yellow diamond ring” of 2.46 carats flanked by tapered baguette-cut diamonds, estimated at $10,000 (£7,633) to $15,000 (£11,450), as well as a twin-setting of a Fancy Deep Brownish-Orange Diamond and Diamond Ring, set to go for $20,000 (£15,267) to $30,000 (£22,900).

Christie’s added: “Each category of jewelry is represented, whether you are in the market for a diamond ring in a timeless setting, statement chandelier earrings, or an impressive necklace, this shimmering summer sale is not to be missed.”
