The relocation and re-launch of the Hugh Rice Jewellers Beverley store in October has been warmly received by customers, who appreciate the additional space and bright vibe within the 17th century Grade II listed building at the heart of the conservation town of Beverley.

Mike Rice (pictured), managing director of the Hugh Rice Group, said: “You only have to switch on the TV or pick up a newspaper to see that we are still in economically challenging times. However, we have remained focused on the future of the company and recognised that to grow and improve our customer experience, investing in this relocation was essential.

“I’m delighted to say that this investment is really working for us and the sales performance through our Beverley store is much stronger than it has ever been.”

The shop, which was renovated and restored to retain the character of the historic East Yorkshire town, has also been recognised in the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman’s Awards for architectural excellence, by being shortlisted in the category of ‘Built Heritage’. The winner will be announced at a ceremony to be held at the Spa, Bridlington, in May.
