Goldsmiths Trafford Centre store set for £800k refurbishment
Jewellery store chain Goldsmiths has announced that its Intu Trafford Centre store in Manchester is to undergo a £800,000 refurbishment.
The new-look store, which will be around a third larger than its current premise, will feature a brand new Rolex room with two seating areas, a branded area for luxury watch brand Breitling with additional seating, as well as a new dedicated Goldsmiths services area.
In addition to its existing range of brands such as Cartier, TAG Heuer and Raymond Weil, new collections from Fope, Ponte Vecchio and Georg Jensen will also be introduced as part of the launch.
Goldsmiths said that two more sales positions will be created to accommodate the expansion, boosting its number of employees to a 17-strong team, managed by Paul Salisbury.
Nikki Cartwright, head of marketing for the chain, said: “This is a very exciting time for us at Goldsmiths in Manchester. The Intu Trafford Centre refurbishment will not only offer more comfortable and spacious surroundings for our customers, but also enables us to showcase some of our most sought-after brands, such as Rolex, in a dedicated, specialist setting.
“We’re confident our customers will love the new-look interior and extended jewellery collections, so the temporary closure will be well worth the wait. During the refurbishment programme, both our sister store at intu Trafford Centre’s upper floor, and our show room in the Arndale Centre, will be open for business as usual.”
Goldsmiths said that the store currently attracts over 100,000 customers per year, a number expected to rise by around a quarter, with an additional 2,400 customers as a result of the expansion.
The store, which will be closed throughout May and June, is expected to reopen in early July.
