International Jewellery London (IJL) is set to welcome an increased number of security focused exhibitors at its upcoming event, set to take place between September 6 – 8.
The announcement follows a recent spate of smash-and-grabs and the much publicised ‘Hatton Garden heist’, in which an estimated £10m of jewellery was stolen from safe deposit boxes over the Easter weekend earlier this year.
Security exhibitors will include the Metropolitan Police, Elite Protection, Facewatch, Protect Fog Cannon and Oncam Global. New security system Medusa, which released a video showcasing its rapidly-expanding foam protection, will also be exhibiting.
Meanwhile, retail security expert Hilaire O’Shea will host a seminar on how to deter theft from occurring, as well as offering one-to-one advice. The seminar – ‘Victim or Victor’ – will take place on Sunday, September 6, at 2:15pm until 3:15pm.
There will also be two security advice clinics held on Sunday, September 6 at 4pm until 5pm, and Monday, September 7, at 1pm until 2pm.
