The CEO of jewellery chain Beaverbrooks, Anna Blackburn, has been named one of the most influential women in the North West business community.

Blackburn, who is the first female CEO in Beaverbrooks’ history and was the first non-family member to be appointed to the role in 2013, is one of 113 businesswomen to be honoured for their professional achievements, leadership skills and community service.

The inaugural ‘Women of Influence’ list, compiled by business publication the North West Business Insider, aims to recognise the region’s most influential leaders who have acted as ambassadors and role models.

Blackburn said: “To feature on such a prestigious list of leading female executives is a real honour. After being with Beaverbrooks for 17 years and dedicating my career to the business, I’m thrilled to be recognised for doing something I love.

“Women play a vital role in the wider business community and it’s great to see successful females recognised and celebrated, as it will inspire and empower others.”

Blackburn first joined Beaverbrooks as part of the company’s sales team before progressing into management. She was appointed to head of operations in 2008, before, in 2012, being promoted to head of retail and later CEO.
