Earlier this year it was reported that Swatch Group, which owns the Longines brand and already has a store on the street, will pay an annual rent of £535,000, equating to £1,010 per square foot – a record for Oxford Street.

Juan-Carlos Capelli, vice president of the brand, said: “We’re delighted to offer our customers a destination where they can choose from the best selection of Longines timepiece in London.

“Longines is committed to growing our network of boutiques in key retail spaces around the world and we are very proud of our presence on London’s most famous shopping street – offering Longines huge visibility in the UK market”.

Winslet added: “I am very pleased to share this important moment with Longines. This beautiful boutique welcomes customers in an exclusive environment that perfectly mirrors the elegance of the brand and its timepieces”
