Six designers from the UK have come together to create the House of Queensland exhibition.
The designers are currently working with Queensland gemstones to create a range of pieces to form the Jewels of Queensland Collection and each will be releasing bespoke items under their own brands.
Pieces will be added to the collection going forward with designers accepting commission projects from high quality Queensland gemstones made available by representative Ian Bone and sourced by his partner producers in Australia.
The designers are Amanda Li Hope, Andrew English, Chris Boland, Emily Thatcher and Samira Jafari. They are currently working with Queensland Boulder Opal, Queensland Sapphires and Queensland Chrysoprase to create these pieces.
The collaborative collection has been formed to “bring something new” to the market and “capture the full story” behind the gemstones being used in the jewellery/ The collection also aims to bring customers closer to the designers by understanding the “inspiration and creativity” during creation.
The group also hope that through their collection, they will increase the presence of Queensland gemstones in the wider market.
A full collection of the pieces will be finished by early September 2017 and will be shown at a special exhibition at the Trade and Investment Queensland suites, Australia Centre, Australian House, The Strand, London on the 12 to 14 September 2017.
