Fabergé and Bradley’s Jewellers unveils Christmas Snowflake Egg Charm

This process, which uses UV light to cure enamel, represents the first time that Fabergé has used this technique on a design

Independent jewellery business Bradley’s Jewellers York has partnered with jewellery maison Fabergé and launched an exclusive Fabergé x Bradley’s Jewellers Christmas Snowflake Egg Charm.

Inspired by a traditional British Christmas, the limited-edition Christmas Snowflake Egg Charm is available in 18k yellow, white and rose gold, and can be worn on a charm bracelet or as a pendant.

It’s decorated in a shade of red and adorned with diamond-set golden snowflakes.

Fabergé’s team of expert Workmasters used a new and innovative technique to apply decorative details to 18k gold.

This process, which uses UV light to cure enamel, represents the first time that Fabergé has used this technique on a design.

The red colour is produced with micro-fine ceramic particles, connected with a liquid polymer, resulting in a “skin-safe, robust, and fade resistant colour”.

Additionally, each Christmas Snowflake Egg Charm has a bail loop set with brilliant-cut diamonds in the customer’s choice of 18k white, yellow or rose gold.

The loop can be easily and securely affixed to a charm bracelet or necklace, whether the customer’s own or purchased separately from Bradley’s Jewellers.

Just eight Fabergé x Bradley’s Jewellers Christmas Snowflake Egg Charms have been created.

The York-based retailer’s most loyal customers have already been invited to pre-order their piece, alongside other Fabergé x Bradley’s creations, including the Yorkshire Rose Egg Charm, Yorkshire Rose Brooch, and the Christmas Robin Egg Surprise Locket Pendant, which is yet to be unveiled to the public.

Liisa Tallgren, head of design at Fabergé, said: “The possibilities are endless with the colour palette that can be achieved via this innovative process, allowing for a beautiful spectrum of colours to be realised in core collections as well as bespoke creations.

“The desired colour is applied to the 18k gold surface by hand in thin layers, before undergoing a blue light curing process; this step is repeated until the desired effect is achieved.”

Kay Bradley added: “It is wonderful to see my dream of a Christmas-themed Fabergé Egg come to life, especially knowing the innovative techniques required to fulfil my design ambitions. The ever-evolving Fabergé x Bradley’s Jewellers collaboration is a testament to both the heritage craftsmanship of Fabergé and the loyalty and support of my clients, who really love this luxurious partnership. As we prepare for Christmas, I predict all pieces will sell-out in record time.”
