Marloe Watch Company has revealed the latest addition to its range of British designed mechanical watches.
The new Atlantic collection features an automatic mechanical chronoscope with four distinct models inspired by the “dawn of transatlantic air travel” – R34, Flyer, Fortune and Spirit.
The company said a limited number of the R34 model, each engraved with its unique serial number, will be available for purchase on the lead up to Christmas.
When designing the Atlantic collection, the firm said there was a particular focus on the “story of the R34 airship, a forgotten chapter in aviation history”.
Each model in the collection features a “polished and brushed” bespoke casing with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
The chronoscope reportedly has a “powerful” Seiko NE88a automatic mechanical movement at its heart, beating eight times a second.
The NE88a contains 45 hours of power and a timing mechanism built within the chassis to offer a 12-hour chronoscope function.
The Seiko’s movement range also features a date complication, both automatic winding and manual winding, hacking, quick-set date, shock protection and a very respectable accuracy for keeping precise time.
The rest of the collection will be available to pre-order for delivery early next year.
