Vaziry’s pieces were one of the all-time bestsellers in the museum’s shop during its recent Afghanistan exhibition. Sima draws inspiration for her pieces from “Afghan and Persian art, calligraphy, architecture and textures” and describes her work as “a contemporary interpretation of the traditional.”

The British Museum originally chose twenty designs from her Afghan and Persian jewellery collections, displaying and selling the pieces from its Grenville Room and online from the 3 March to the 17 July.
