Former Links of London boss appointed as Trollbeads CEO

David Riddiford has been appointed as the new chief executive officer for Trollbeads UK, just weeks after the Danish jewellery announced the acquisition of its UK distributor, Fable Trading.

Riddiford, who was formerly chief executive for Links of London globally and Folli Follie in the UK, is currently non-executive director at ethical fashion firm People Tree and department store Jarrold Norwich.

Earlier in his career, in the late 1990s, he was buying director at Selfridges before becoming president of the Lane Crawford Department store group in Hong Kong, and then the CEO of Arnotts in Dublin.

Departing Trollbeads CEO, Jan Stig Anderson, said: “David has the experience to develop Trollbeads’ major potential in the UK jewellery market and he will be the driving force in growing our business here. We are delighted to welcome him to this important role in our organisation.”

Accepting the new role, Riddiford said: “Trollbeads has an excellent foundation in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the brand forward and to focus on the originality and versatility of the collections. There are huge opportunities in the UK market for Trollbeads and I’m looking forward to establishing strong relationships with existing customers and to developing new links and prospects.”

Since Trollbeads first began marketing its jewellery outside of Denmark in the early 2000’s, the company has expanded its distribution to include more than 35 countries. In most countries distribution is handled by independent local distributors, but in the US, Scandinavia, and now the UK, distribution is handled by Trollbeads subsidiaries.
