A Cheshire jeweller has been shortlisted for the Women in Business Awards covering the North West and the Isle of Man.
Orit Adiri-Niemogha, managing director of H&D Diamonds, is one of 31 women in nine categories to have been shortlisted by an independent panel of judges for the annual awards.
The awards, which are run by Forward Ladies, recognise talented and capable women in the region, and acknowledges the economic contribution by professional women, and innovators, to the economy.
Adiri-Niemogha told Jewellery Focus: “I am very grateful for being shortlisted. It all came as a surprise to me and I really hadn’t expected any of that to happen.
“It is really nice to feel all my hard work is being acknowledged as although diamonds are usually associated with glamour, building up a business means a lot of hard work. If I win of course I will be very happy but getting shortlisted is an achievement in itself.”
Griselda Togobo, managing director at Forward Ladies, said she was very impressed with the standard of entries. She said: “The hard work of these women must be recognised so they can become credible and inspirational role models for future generations.”
The Women in Business Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester’s Midland Hotel on Friday, March 27.
