IWC Schaffhausen is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its partnership with Mercedes-AMG with the launch of a motoring inspired watch.

The Ingenieur Automatic Edition ‘AMG GT’, is made of solid boron carbide – one of the hardest materials in existence – and is limited to just 25 pieces.

It features a design which combines black and yellow elements, inspired by AMG’s exclusive colour “solarbeam”, while the screws on the bezel and crown are made from black zirconium oxide.

The timepiece features the in-house 80110-calibre, which has an integrated shock-absorption system, and the company claims it is one of the most “robust” movements in Schaffhausen.

Georges Kern, IWC CEO, said: “The Ingenieur Automatic Edition ‘AMG GT’ will be available in a tiny edition of just 25 watches and is an unequivocal declaration of the significance of our 10-year partnership with Mercedes-AMG.”

The watch was revealed by IWC at the 73rd Goodwood Meeting on March 21 and 22, for which the brand was the official timing partner.
