Boodles has announced that it is designing the Grand National Trophy for the 2025 Randox Grand National at Aintree Racecourse.

This year’s trophy “captures the essence” of Randox, the Grand National’s sponsor, through its Biochip-inspired design, symbolising innovation, cutting-edge technology.

Boodles designers wanted to pay homage to the iconic Aintree racecourse by subtly incorporating its features in the design.

Both the molecular structure and the DNA helix have sixteen spheres and bars respectively, reflecting the sixteen jumps of the Grand National course.

Mounted on a green malachite base, the trophy nods to Randox’s brand colour and the historic use of gemstones in Grand National trophies.

The stylised horseshoe structure of the trophy pays tribute to the Grand National and both brands’ shared love of racing.

The inclusion of diamond discs adds a touch of Boodles’ charm, while the green malachite base links our past and the present.

Boodles’ silversmithing heritage can be traced back to 1798 when the company was founded in Liverpool and began as a jeweller, specialising in silver, jewellery and antiques.

Dickon White, regional director west and Aintree Racecourse, said: “The Randox Grand National Trophy is a symbol of prestige, achievement, and history, and this year’s design by Boodles beautifully reflects these qualities.

“Their deep-rooted connection to both artistry and equestrian heritage makes them the perfect partner to create such an iconic piece. The trophy seamlessly blends Randox’s pioneering spirit with the enduring legacy of the Randox Grand National, resulting in a design that is both contemporary and timeless.”

Michael Wainwright, Boodles chairman, added: “Boodles is delighted to be partnering with Randox to design the 2025 Randox Grand National trophy. This collaboration is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate both the rich heritage of the Grand National and our longstanding connection to Aintree, with our company’s roots tracing back to 1798 in Liverpool, just a stone’s throw from the racecourse. We are honoured to play a part in commemorating this world-famous event with Randox.”
