Jewellery chain Fraser Hart has announced it is set to open a new store in Colchester’s Culver Square shopping centre.
The new store is expected to open in April and Fraser Hart, which has 39 other stores across the UK, said it has already started the interview process for the seven staff members it is hiring from the local area.
The store will take over two units in the shopping centre and will feature a dedicated diamond area, private viewing areas and dedicated watch brand boutiques. It will stock a range of fine jewellery, Swiss watches and its own diamond range.
Paul Owen, the company’s retail director, said: “Colchester is an affluent market town which draws in people from about 40 minutes drive away so it punches above its weight and there is a great mix of retail which again draws a diverse shopping community.”
The store will join 11 other jewellers in the town, including Goldsmiths, Pandora, Ernest Jones and the independent White Shine Jewellery.
David Robertson, the shopping centre’s manager, added: “It’s all about giving shoppers a choice and giving them the full range of jewellery, from high end to cosmetic.
“Eleven jewellers is not that many for a town this size. Fraser Hart coming here is very much a positive. It gives people an option of where they want to shop, the best choice and the opportunity to look for the best deal.”
