Maya Gemstones adds four new pieces to Sonya Collection

Red and aqua pieces are being added to the line which are all made of 18ct yellow gold, enamel and diamonds

Maya Gemstones has announced that four new pieces are being added to its Sonya Collection, each with the brand’s signature ‘Maya cut’ diamond in the centre.

This month sees pendants and rings in red and aqua being added to the collection. As with the previous pieces in the Sonya Collection, these are made of 18ct yellow gold, enamel and diamonds.

The collection was originally launched with just a pendant and ring in iridescent rose quartz. They were also made of 18ct yellow gold, with mini round-cut diamonds, placed in a geometric formation, and a ‘Maya cut’ diamond in the centre of each piece.

Additionally, for London Fashion Week in February 2020, Maya Gemstones launched neon extensions of both the Sonya and Out of Office collections, both of which reportedly “fast-became best sellers”.

For the Sonya collection, new rings were launched in neon yellow, pink and blue – the former with enamel, and the latter with shimmery blue quartz, set in rose gold.

The Sonya Collection was reportedly inspired by art, geometric shapes and their places in history. It is named after the founder’s youngest daughter.

Olga Pekarevskaia, founder of Maya Gemstones, said: “We’ve been experimenting with different stones, sizes, colours and textures of metals in our best-selling collections over the past year, but we had such a great response to our neon pieces that we decided to extend them further.

“We will always be a fine jewellery brand, but we’re heavily inspired by fashion, art and architecture, so we never stop creating – this launch is the first of many to come over the next six months, including another update for Sonya in 2022.”
