International luxury jeweller Bulgari has announced the reopening of its factory amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement posted on Linkedin, the company said its factory had opened on 18 May in accordance with the Italian Presidential Decree.
The statement read: “Above all else, we are ensuring the wellbeing of our staff, protecting their health in every way possible as we reopen. Today, we are wishing the team at our Valenza facility a safe return to work, with everyone in high spirits as they embrace the new guidelines.”
The news comes as the Italian jeweller announced that it will donate over 160,000 units of hand sanitising gel to the NHS.
The medical-grade gel will be housed in 75ml recyclable bottles so that they are both sustainable and portable for healthcare workers.
Prior to announcing its donation to the UK, the luxury jeweller also donated a state-of-the-art 3D high definition microscope to the Spallanzani Hospital in Rome in order to help develop a vaccine for the virus.
