Rolex leads demand for second-hand watches

Having already been named the leading UK consumer watch brand, ahead of Omega, Seiko, Rotary, Swatch, TAG Heuer and Timex, Rolex filled every slot in BQ Watches’ list of most sought-after models.

“Demand for the brand is higher than ever. Indeed, during the recent Jewellery Show at Birmingham’s NEC, we had customers queuing up to be served,” said Ian Shaffer, director of sales at BQW.

“Last year was a record year for sales at the show, but this year we beat all expectations. From the minute the doors of the exhibition were opened, until they closed, our team was constantly dealing with customers wanting to spend, and the majority of buyers were seeking Rolex watches.”

In the last year, BQ Watches’ turnover increased by over 40 per cent, compared to the previous 12 months – which was itself a record year – and according to Ian around 70 per cent of his business is now for Rolex models.
