The Assay Allstars team is made up of Michael Allchin (CEO), Marie Brennan (business relations manager), Sophie Whitehouse (AnchorCert marketing co-ordinator), Anu Manchanda (senior gemmologist), Steven Franklin (laboratory marketing co-ordinator), Antony Charalambous (laboratory admin), Liz Brogan (Hallmarking Sub-Office supervisor), Karen Reilly (Hallmarking Sub-office), and Luke Summlar (laboratory admin).

The team is running to support the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign (MD), which aims to find a treatment, and ultimately a cure, for this condition, as well as caring for and counselling sufferers and their families.

Over 70,000 babies, children and adults in the UK have some form of muscular dystrophy, which is a collective name for over 60 conditions that have one thing in common – a progressive weakening and wasting of the body’s muscles. The severity of disability varies greatly but many affected children do not live to adulthood.
