CEO and founder of the group Laurie Wickwire introduced the concept, offering luxury diamond jewellery and investment diamonds entirely at industry cost price to private members.

Under the scheme, every member is appointed an individual private concierge jeweller and diamond broker, who have completed GIA Diamond Certificate Courses and RJ Diplomas, and all have a minimum of 10 years within the luxury goods industry.

The BDG says that it offers its private members luxury diamond, pearl and precious gem jewellery at competitive prices, but with credibility, transparency and security not afforded by internet jewellers.

There are no hidden costs or profit margins, and members receive jewellery at industry cost price.

Members also have access to a jewellery loan programme, so they can borrow collections to wear for weddings or exclusive events.

Host, former model and current presenter Lisa Snowdon, arrived in a McLaren wearing a 29 carat diamond collar crafted in platinum, adding glitz to the exclusive club’s launch night.

Guests enjoyed a James Bond style vodka ice bar sponsored by Ciroc, from Salt Yard Caterers, and glorious goodie bags from Yves Saint Laurent. The jazz atmosphere during the evening was provided by professional pianist Mr Lincoln Noe.
