Maya Gemstones launches new Très collection

Maya Gemstones has launched its new Très collection which features three wheels, three meanings and conceptualised in the three days it took Olga Pekarevskaia, the brands founder, to complete Kailash Kora on her trip to Tibet and through the Himalayan mountains.

According to Maya, the new collection channels “the power of ancient buddhist prayer wheels for protection, peace, love, hope and ambition”.

The London-based jewellery designer, Pekarevskaia, went on an “enlightening” journey through the Himalayan mountains and Tibetan Plateau. While there, she found herself inspired by traditional Buddhist prayer wheels, with their “intricate” detailing and “powerful” inscriptions.

They’re traditionally spun while reciting mantras that generate “auspicious energy, wisdom, good fortune, purify karma, and drive away negative energies”. Inspired by these ancient traditions and crafted using materials sourced from local artisans, the Très collection, which features three wheels, represents the past, present or future.

Each wheel can be purchased as a pendant, with an 18ct yellow gold chain, or in a smaller size as a bracelet, which is available with either a chain or traditional red rope.

Marking the brands first foray into men’s jewellery, the bracelets are also available in a slightly different design with black onyx beads – there is an additional pendant in a vertical design, with a Tahitian black pearl at the end of the chain.

The Past pendant was designed to “harness the power” of ancient Buddhist mantras. The mantras are traditionally recited while spinning prayer wheels, and are said to bring “good karma, wisdom, clarity, and repel bad energies”.

Meanwhile, the Present pendant was designed to remind the wearer that “life is sacred and to live in the moment”. These pieces channel “protection, inner peace, love and compassion”. They also represent the “bridge between the past and the future”.

Lastly, the Future pendant channels “hope, passion, ambition and bravery”. They were created to bring “auspicious energy” and to remind the wearer to “strive for their dreams and goals”.

We wanted to create a new collection that embodies this fusion of past, present and future- but one that really means something to people.
