Tell me a bit about the company?

Learning with Experts provides high quality online learning that’s both enjoyable and accessible. People all over the world can now learn from the greatest experts, from the comfort of their own homes. And we’re delighted to have teamed up with Joanna Hardy and some of the experts from the jewellery world.

We believe that part of the joy of learning is the discussions you have with your classmates and teachers, as well as being taken on a visual journey through fascinating video footage with some of the greatest names in jewellery. Joanna Hardy has 30 years of experience in the world of jewellery, and during this online course she shares a wealth of valuable information and unheard secrets from the jewellery industry. Joanna shares what she looks for in jewellery.

She describes the tell tale qualities she observes to understand if jewellery will stand the test of time.  For the first time, you also get to see how hallmarking is conducted, and behind the scenes of workshops where royal tiaras are still being made today. During the course you hear from Shaun Leane, who made all the catwalk jewellery for Alexander McQueen.

Shaun explains the design process for making contemporary jewellery. You also hear from Fred Rich one of Europe’s most dynamic and exciting art enamellers. Fred examines the techniques from Cartier, Lalique and Faberge. And finally assignments are really marked by Joanna and her team, so you know you’re getting taught by real experts.

What do you offer?

We offer people who are enthusiasts, (and that ranges from complete beginners through to professionals), access to experts, in an intimate online classroom. You get to watch beautifully produced videos, chat and discuss with classmates, and actually ask questions and get assignments marked by jewellery specialist Joanna Hardy and her team.

Joanna’s jewellery foundation course, is the first of its kind in the world, and is becoming a ‘must do’ for practising jewellery professionals as well as enthusiastic collectors and hobbiests.

How long have you worked at Learning with Experts?

I’m the founder and have been passionate about this business since the beginning. We really began to grow when we took investment in 2015.

What has been the company’s greatest achievement so far?

We place great value on the success of our students being taught by famous experts. So I guess the joy we bring in learning about the subjects they are passionate about for our 33,000 registered users

What are some of the challenges the company has had to overcome?

We are growing fast, so keeping pace with the demands of our students and tutors. Currently our courses are only available in English. We have requests for courses in multi-language, especially from China, Korea and India. We want to be available to serve students everywhere, but are meticulous in ensuring we are translating courses at the very highest standards.

How do you see the next five years for the company?

We’re already experiencing high growth, so I’m anticipating us teaming up with some really exciting other well known experts in the world of arts, food and drink, horticulture, antiques, photography and other subjects. We’ll become the ‘go to’ place for online learning for adults looking for vocational skills or to learn more about their hobbies. It’s going to be an exciting ride, and would love some of you to join us.
