NAG appoints Michael Rawlinson as new CEO

Michael, whose most recent senior role was as director general of UKIE, will join the Association on 2 April. During his time at UKIE, he introduced new services for members, worked with related associations, developed codes of practice, and acted as the industry’s spokesperson.

“I am really enthusiastic about the opportunity to follow in Michael Hoare’s shoes and to work with the team of excellent people at NAG,” said Michael, who also has experience in retailing and consumer goods.

“Jewellery reflects an individual’s character and personality. There are exciting challenges ahead for NAG and I look forward to leading the team that will deliver the right services for our members. The members of NAG face a very challenging and dynamic marketplace and I am keen for the association to realise its full potential.”

NAG chairman Pravin Pattni added: “The selection panel worked with an expert in recruiting senior staff for associations and considered a very broad range of candidates with diverse backgrounds, such as leading associations, the jewellery trade, retailing and training, to mention but a few. A very thorough process narrowed the field from almost 150 and highlighted Michael Rawlinson as the right person to manage the NAG and work with the team to take the association forward.
