Facet has announced the launch of its first fully traceable range, The Timeless Classics Collection, ensuring responsible sourcing and sustainable practices throughout the supply chain through the certified and audited traceability offered by Tracemark.

It said that amid a complex global scenario of geopolitical tensions and economic sanctions, the diamond industry faces a “crucial” challenge: ensuring the ethical provenance of its diamonds.

It added this challenge was particularly heightened in the case of diamonds from Russia, a country under sanctions, where the need for transparency has become “imperative”.

Faced with this need for change, Facet, pilot partner member of Tracemark, is taking the initiative by “anticipating the upcoming actions” and presenting the first certified and audited traceability collection for jewellery, The Timeless Classics Collection.

According to Facet, the initiative not only complies with the latest European regulations, but also sets a new standard in the jewellery industry, “guaranteeing consumers the authenticity and ethical origin of every piece of jewellery purchased”.

Total transparency, backed by Tracemark’s technology, ensures that “every step in the jewellery supply chain has been held to the highest sustainability standards”.

The jewellery group launched the new collection during the Inhorgenta fair in Munich, which has undergone an “exhaustive” external audit that conclusively verifies that none of its pieces have been made with diamonds from Russia or any other uncontrolled conflict zone that produces so-called “blood diamonds”.

Facet stated that with this collection it reaffirms “its commitment to sustainability, authenticity and innovation”.

Jose Miguel Serret, founder and CEO of Facet, said: “At Facet, sustainability has been a fundamental pillar since our inception. Today, more than ever, sustainability has become an imperative and it is our duty as a reference in the jewellery industry to step forward, act responsibly and provide the certainty, through certified and audited traceability, that none of our jewellery has been made with diamonds sourced from Russia.”
