North American online jewellery retailer Jewlr has announced its partnership with the Edinburgh Assay Office (EAO).

The EAO’s hallmarking services will be combined with Jewlr’s craftsmanship and personalised styles, to bring fine jewellery of the highest quality to customers in the United Kingdom.

Since 1457, the EAO has been verifying the purity of precious metals, applying its hallmarks only to jewellery. The company has evolved over its 550 years of service to incorporate the latest in testing technologies and laser hallmarking techniques.

The new luxury line, along with each and every item sold in the UK, will be inspected and verified by the EAO before being delivered to customers.

Tony Davis, founder and CEO of Jewlr, said: “It’s a really significant move for us. Now that we are expanding into the luxury market, it’s more important than ever that we provide our clients with every assurance that the jewellery they get from us not only meets, but exceeds industry standards. Partnering with the EAO, one of the most trusted names in hallmarking, allows us to do that.”
