Jewellery brand Tessa Packard has announced the launch of its new fine jewellery collection, ‘For King & Country’.

It is inspired by the Golden Age of Discovery – the period in history between the 15th and 18th Centuries, which is renowned for its exploration, sea voyages and adventures in the quest for colonial expansion and economic riches.

The collection is comprised of earrings, necklaces, cufflinks, rings and charms, which are derived from nautical instruments of the time, such as symbols of the northern star and lunar cycle – key navigational landmarks of the sky.

The company said pieces are designed with forms “reminiscent of the globe and its imaginary lines of latitude and longitude”.

The use of pearls – a first for the brand – aims to symbolise the coveted treasure plundered in the East by Westerners during the period.
